Voice and Body Lessons focus on how to use the actor’s tools of body and voice. These lessons can stand-alone or be combined with a theatre unit focusing on performance skills.
Voice/Diction
Students will demonstrate their ability to use their voice effectively by performing a performance piece for a classmate, incorporating projection and diction.
Students will learn what Slam Poetry is, how the voice is used to perform it, and how to write it by analyzing Slam Poetry videos and writing and performing their own Slam Poetry pieces.
Students will demonstrate their understanding of blocking and physicality by being able to add and execute movement in their performing piece (monologue, audition piece, etc.).
