Research and synthesize cultural and historical information related to a drama\/theatre work to support or evaluate artistic choices.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TH:Cn11.2.III.b. Present and support an opinion about the social, cultural, and historical understandings of a drama\/theatre work, based on critical research.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Materials:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Intro to Dramaturgy Powerpoint<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Computer<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Projector<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paper<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pencils<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Crayons<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Access to the prop shop<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Hook:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have the pictures of the Little Shop of Horrors lobby display up as class gets started.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHow did everyone\u2019s brainstorm sessions go last time?\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cLobby displays are a creative process, use today to get more ideas, but I want to see everyone\u2019s display built by the last 10 minutes of class. We will then take a chance to go around and look at everyone\u2019s.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cRemember we have plenty of stuff here in the class that you can use for your displays. Get creative and have fun with it.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Give students until the last 10 minutes of class to work.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the 10 minute mark, walk around with the class to look at everyone\u2019s displays. Have the students observe what\u2019s on them.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the walk through have students write a brief explanation of their lobby display design. What did they include and why? This explanation will be included in their casebooks.
