Lesson #9 \u2013 Performance<\/strong><\/p>\n

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE:<\/p>\n

Students will demonstrate their ability to perform and direct by presenting their own Children\u2019s Theatre performance to actual children in close-by elementary schools.\u00a0 (Teachers will need to set up performances \u2013 see \u201cScheduling Performances\u201d handout for teachers only)<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

MATERIALS NEEDED:<\/p>\n

Performance schedule for each student<\/p>\n

All signed parent forms for driving students<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

HOOK:<\/p>\n

As students come into class, make sure everyone is dressed in white tops and jean bottoms.\u00a0 Each time they perform it is worth 25 points to be in costume.\u00a0 If students are not in costume, they will have to wear something from the costume closet (which could be scary!)<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

STEP ONE:<\/p>\n

Call role. Make sure all drivers have address to the school where we will be performing.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

STEP TWO:<\/p>\n

Send students to designated cars.\u00a0 Call school to let them know we are on our way.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

STEP THREE:<\/p>\n

Arrive at the school.\u00a0 Arrange stage\/acting area.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

STEP FOUR:<\/p>\n

Perform<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

STEP FIVE:<\/p>\n

Return to school<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

CLOSURE:<\/p>\n

Make sure every one has returned safely.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

ASSESSMENT:<\/p>\n

Students can be assessed by their performance quality as they present the show to elementary students.\u00a0 Students could also prepare an \u201cinvited audience\u201d performance for their friends and family that is separate from the elementary school performances.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
