{"id":4797,"date":"2016-03-08T18:41:08","date_gmt":"2016-03-08T18:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tedb-old.byu.edu\/?page_id=4797"},"modified":"2016-03-08T18:41:08","modified_gmt":"2016-03-08T18:41:08","slug":"final-set-design","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/tedb-old.byu.edu\/?page_id=4797","title":{"rendered":"Final Set Design"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Lesson 7: <em>Final Set Design<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lesson Objective:<\/strong> Students will present their final set design for the class by showing\/explaining their set design models.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Materials Needed:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2 Large tables (have them set up in the front of the room)<\/p>\n<p>Set Model Presentation Point Breakdown sheets \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tedb-old.byu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/7.Final-Presentation-Evalution-Breakdown.docx\">7.Final Presentation Evalution Breakdown<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Presentation Day:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the start of class, have students set up their 3-D models on the table.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Give students 2-3 minutes to walk around and look at the different types of models that were created.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Have students take a seat and begin the formal presentations. Each student will take a turn (3-5ish mins) formally presenting their model to the class.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Students\u2019 presentations will be graded using the set model\/presentation breakdown as they present.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Self Assessment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After all models have been presented, put on some instrumental music. Have students take out a pen\/pencil and paper and spend some time answering the following questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What were some exciting design choices you saw in others\u2019 work?<\/li>\n<li>How did you see designers applying their viz\/research in their design choices?<\/li>\n<li>What were some new discoveries you made about your show through the design process?<\/li>\n<li>What do you feel you did well with throughout the unit? (Be specific)<\/li>\n<li>What do you feel you could improve on? (Be specific)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Discussion:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Go through the questions and have students share some of their answers that they gave to the questions they reflected on. \u00a0Share some of your insights, things you\u2019ve learned\/been impressed with in their work throughout the unit.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wrap up:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Have students turn in their self assessments at the end of class.
