Portfolio Work Day (Final Work Day)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong>Objective<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Students will demonstrate their understanding of the role of a theatre production team, the definition of each member, and his\/her responsibilities, talents\/skills by taking a test and working on their Production Book (portfolio) which is based on a chosen scene from Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream and includes hands-on, creative projects for specific positions on a production team and similar to what they would do if working an actual production.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Materials Needed<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Copies of unit test<\/p>\n<p>Copies of Production Book grading sheet<\/p>\n<p>Extra handouts from unit lessons<\/p>\n<p>Supplies that may help the students be more creative in completing their portfolios:\u00a0colored pencils, scissors, glue, colored paper, Directions<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Anticipatory Set\/Hook<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Arrange the desks\/chairs so they are scattered around the room (a few feet from other chairs\/desks).\u00a0\u00a0Tell the students to sit down and review for the Production Team Test<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Instruction<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1\u2014<\/strong>Before administering the test, explain that students can work on their portfolios after they submit their tests.\u00a0\u00a0Also explain the Expectations and Consequences of this work day:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Expectations:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Students are expected to use the time wisely.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Students will do their own have the rest of the period to complete work on their Production Book.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 3\u2014<\/strong>Continually monitor the students throughout the class period.\u00a0\u00a0Maintain close proximity with students by walking around the room, checking students\u2019 work.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 4\u2014<\/strong>Keep the students apprised of the time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 5\u2014<\/strong>\u00a0Ask students if they need any help.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 6\u2014<\/strong>Have students wind up their projects and clean up a few minutes before the bell rings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ask:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Was this time
