{"id":2038,"date":"2015-04-14T19:06:34","date_gmt":"2015-04-14T19:06:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tedb-wp.byu.edu\/?page_id=2038"},"modified":"2015-05-14T19:52:18","modified_gmt":"2015-05-14T19:52:18","slug":"8-performances-for-children","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/tedb-old.byu.edu\/?page_id=2038","title":{"rendered":"8: Performances for Children"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Objective<\/h4>\n<p>Students will demonstrate their understanding of audience reaction to children\u2019s theatre by writing a self-reflective journal entry about their performance at elementary schools.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Lesson Directions<\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Anticipatory Set\/Hook<\/h4>\n<p>Prepare \u201cgood show\u201d treats for all the students before they head off to their respective schools.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Instruction<\/h4>\n<p>Step Two: Go to the elementary school classrooms and have the groups perform their stories.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Step Three: When they return, have a class discussion on what they noticed about the children\u2019s responses. Ask them: what they felt went right and what went wrong, and what could have been better?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Step Four: Have them write in their Self-Evaluation Journals what they gained from their experience, and all that was talked about in discussion.
