HOOK:<\/h5>\n
Have the room set up in a performance orientation with the chairs\/desks facing a performing area. Have the CD player readily accessible to the presenters in the front of the room.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
STEP 1:<\/h5>\n
Presentations \u2013 Have each student present their Director\u2019s Book. Watch the clock and keep the presentations to the five-minute time limit.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
STEP 2:<\/h5>\n
Instruction \u2013 While the books are being presented, have the \u201caudience members\u201d keep notes on what they are watching\/listening to. They will be voting at the end of the presentations on which plays should be directed for the student produced night of one-acts.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
STEP 3:<\/h5>\n
Guided Practice \u2013 After all of the Director\u2019s Books are presented, have the students write their top three play choices on a sheet of paper. Remind them to consider a balance of styles of plays and unique concept choices in their decisions.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
STEP 4:<\/h5>\n
Checking for Understanding \u2013 Collect the voting sheets and the completed Director\u2019s Books. On your own time, after grading the Director\u2019s Books, determine and post\/announce which plays will be performed for the student produced night of one-acts.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
ASSESSMENT:<\/h4>\n
