{"id":1324,"date":"2015-03-26T18:15:46","date_gmt":"2015-03-26T18:15:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tedb-wp.byu.edu\/?page_id=1324"},"modified":"2015-05-13T21:48:52","modified_gmt":"2015-05-13T21:48:52","slug":"lesson-7-shakespeare-previews","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/tedb-old.byu.edu\/?page_id=1324","title":{"rendered":"LESSON 7: Shakespeare Previews"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(this may run over one class period depending on the number of Shakespeare performances there are in the class)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE:<\/h4>\n<p>Students will demonstrate their knowledge of characterization, blocking, and interpretation by performing a preview of their Shakespeare monologue or scene.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>MATERIALS NEEDED:<\/h4>\n<p>Shakespeare Preview evaluation sheets \u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tedb-old.byu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Preview-Evaluation-Sheet.Lesson-7.docx\">Preview Evaluation Sheet.Lesson 7<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>HOOK:<\/h4>\n<p>Conduct a warm-up activity with the class that will free the students up vocally (especially articulators and resonators) and physically (especially tension areas such as the neck and forehead and jaw).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>STEP 1:<\/h4>\n<p>Transition \u2013 Give the students some time to run through their monologues or scenes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>STEP 2:<\/h4>\n<p>Previews \u2013 Have the students perform their previews. While they are performing you will take notes on the evaluation sheet.
