{"id":1088,"date":"2015-02-24T20:40:13","date_gmt":"2015-02-24T20:40:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tedb-wp.byu.edu\/?page_id=1088"},"modified":"2015-05-14T18:30:42","modified_gmt":"2015-05-14T18:30:42","slug":"lesson-2-two-types","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/tedb-old.byu.edu\/?page_id=1088","title":{"rendered":"Lesson 2: Two Types"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE:<\/h4>\n<p> Students will learn that they can lip sync in two ways \u2013 spoken and sung- and in their notebooks write the benefits to both, which they\u2019d prefer to perform and why.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>MATERIALS NEEDED:<\/h4>\n<p> Musicals Word Search Puzzle (not included)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>\u00a0<\/h4>\n<h4>HOOK:<\/h4>\n<p> Kid History Episode 4 (http:\/\/youtu.be\/dVlaZfLlWQc) or any other lip sync video.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>\u00a0<\/h4>\n<h4>LESSON:<\/h4>\n<p> Step 1: Give the students about 10 minutes or so to practice their lip sync scene.<\/p>\n<p>Step 2: Perform the scenes critiquing each after the group has performed.<\/p>\n<p>Step 3: Talk about what things groups did well and what could be done differently to make them look more believable.<\/p>\n<p>Step 4: They have already performed one form of lip sync &#8211; Words that are spoken. Their next assignment will focus on lip syncing music.<\/p>\n<p>Step 5: Students will need their notebooks. They need to write if they think it will be easier to perform a lip sync to a song than it was with their scenes and why. Give them a few minutes to write.<\/p>\n<p>Step 6: Share each of the answers.<\/p>\n<p>Step 7: With any remaining time hand out the Musicals Word Search.
